we're very grateful to have lived long enough to have old-person problems. we never expected to reach 30, 40 wasn't even a thing we contemplated at all. we're still sometimes a bit unsure what to do with ourselves now that we've made it past the filter.
with that said
kids, enjoy your ability to digest food and excrete waste products while it lasts. don't take it for granted.
medical, poop
we just had our first successful excretion of solid waste in about 40 hours. it hardly ever takes that long, and the pain was getting quite intense, so it's a big relief
(pun intended)
medical, poop
interestingly, it came out solid. like, well-lubricated, but a few large clumps rather than many tiny ones. usually when there's a big blockage, after it clears we have an entire day of pressurized liquid shit. this time it came out more like something somebody with a normal non-Crohn's intestine might produce, and we'd like to believe that's because the treatment is helping.
we've said this before, but we think a lot of people with chronic digestive issues just kind of suffer in silence, and we think that's bad, it's part of physical existence and we figure if we share our experiences, other people will be less alone with theirs, you know?
