@sugar
what a mess, and I quite liked fish as a project. It's nice to use and I thought how they did the rust rewrite in place was neat

Thank you! This is a thoughtful answer
@alexia
oh, good. I'm currently using miniflux. I do kind of wish it used sqlite, but postgres hasn't really caused me any problems either
taken too literally
@littlefox
I'm assuming you mean watching on a flight tracker and not from the airport with binoculars? Though that would be cool
@ireneista
this is still bad enough that we can't really focus on anything
we may have different definitions of Excellent here

I've heard similar thoughts/feelings from other people about get well wishes, and it does make sense that it would get old for anything that doesn't have an end, and similarly feelings of abandonment when people "give up" on them when it does not get better :(
But I still want to try to say something positive or at least acknowledge it if they're discussing it, so I'm wondering if y'all have any ideas for different levels of familiarity with the other person/persons. Or even just limited to what you would like :3
Especially with things that may ebb and flow in severity. Is a "I hope tomorrow's better", with the understanding it won't "go away" inappropriate?
blasphomy, silly

It's extremely frustrating; seems like there's no good free* cross platform cloud password manager. I'd say it's a niche to be filled if it wasn't already so darn crowded.
Best we can do now seems to be cobbling together keepass format managers and our own syncing solution, but that's not an easy recommendation to make to people.
*or lowcost. 1password seems like they might be the best cloud option right now, but $50 a year is a lot harder to sell than Bitwarden's paid plan.
@thesquirrelfish @ireneista
The first part was something I considered, but then you lost me when going from "known at the moment by the people near enough to see you" to "a durable record of past movement and routines, known by (unclear)".
I guess that might also exist to an extent for walking now in the present with cell tower tracking, ring cameras, and the patchwork of other cameras by private businesses, but that wouldn't be included in my ideal.
I resisted the urge to talk about transit because I do feel it's a bit of a cop out, and several people have mentioned that there would be fewer cars and more public transit in their ideal world already. But I think another part of that includes slower speeds for the few necessary cars in cities. That would also increase the interactive relationship between driver-driver, driver-environment, and driver-everyone else.
@lumi
honestly a real steal, I get to be your friend and then you're my friend?

willful ignorance or negligence perhaps? but it gets tricky still

Also runs a proof-of-work challenge before you're allowed to type anything.
That's incredibly rich coming from them
@lrhodes
I like XMPP fine, most of my use isn't possible in IRC. e2ee, calls, image upload, and a bridge to PSTN. There are also gateways to IRC from XMPP. Main tricky part is that not every client supports every feature.

I've heard "zimpee" and "zep" (for xep)
