view on christianity It's difficult for me to view christianity as anything positive due to how much it focuses on guilt and humanity's guilt

re: view on christianity With the immense focus on guilt, it feels like it was preprogrammed to escalate into a cult. You are guilty from birth, and you must do this to be saved.

It's just geniusly engineered to become cultish.

Especially after I learned that the concept of the original sin that's so harped on in christianity seems to not be a thing in Islam and Judaism? I don't know if that's entirely true, I read it on tumblr I think. I also generally am not very well-read on Christianity at all but the constant theme of everything is that you are guilty and must be forgiven or saved. No matter what you do, Jesus has to save you, you have to find him to be saved.

For what it's worth not all versions of Christianity believe in original sin. I don't know enough to confidently say which ones do or don't, and if you asked any random individual believer in enough detail you'll probably get different answers.

But needing to believe in Jesus or some other sort of repentance for your own sins is a common belief still. I bet there's some exception there but I can't think of any.
