highly reductive question but not hypothetical
So what's the psychology of someone being utterly catastrophically irrefutably wrong? re: homeopathy, bigotry, flat earthers, ghosts/spirits/magic/witches etc. In most cases, you cannot convince someone set in their ways otherwise, doesn't matter if you appeal to emotions, science, or the best rhetoric there is. Their logic is bad and they must be able to see that on some level, but it doesn't matter to them.
